[Obituary]
On the evening of the 29th of Feb,just passed at 8 o'clock death wafted the spirit of one of our most lovable kind women into the great beyond,that was Aunt Lou Croxton.She was surrounded by her children in her home where she had practically lived all her life.She was born Jan.18,1856,the only child of her parents Mr.and Mrs. Joseph J. Benbow.She was married to Mr.T.J.Croxton on Feb.02,1871 whom she survived 20 years.Seven children blessed this union, five of whom survive her; J.Edgar,W.Alonzo and Miss Nancy Croxton,Mrs.W.A. Taylor and Mrs.B.B.Bench.There are eleven grandchildren and eight great grand-children.Her age was 68 years,one month and 11 days.She took her bed on her birthday,Jan.18,1924 with a paralytic left arm,cancerous stomach and appendicitis from which she never recovered.A large concourse of people witnessed her remains consigned to the house of silent rest in Rocky Mount Cemetery at 2 P.M. Sunday March 2nd,1924.Funeral services was conducted by Rev.O.J.Goodman of LaPine and Rev. Samuel Jordan of Highland Home.
