Willie W. Jordan, 91 of Arkansas City died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the South Central Kansas Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the St. James Church of God In Christ. Interment will follow in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Willie was born on August 9, 1920 to Willie B. Jordan and Nancy (Marshall) Jordan in Henderson, TX. Willie moved with his family to Crescent, OK at the age of 4. When Willie was 9, the family moved to Arkansas City. He was the oldest of nine children, four bother and four sisters. Willie worked for Mauer Neuer, later known as Rodeo Meats and Ark City Packing Co. He was a butcher at the plant for 44 years retiring in 1982.

Willie was a deacon at the St. James Church of God In Christ for many years. He was noted for his beautiful trumpet play in which he did faithfully for over 70 years. On August 10, 1937 he married Georgia Dickey and the couple had three daughters and a son.

Willie is survived by his wife, Georgia Jordan of the home; daughters, Beverly Yeager, Marian Hollins and Debra Jennings and husband, Booker all of Arkansas City; sisters, Earline Franklin and husband, James of Wichita; brother, Lawrence Dale Jordan and wife, Beverly of Rilato, CA; niece, Rose Marie Peach of Wichita; daughter in law, Margaret Jordan and son in law, Dr. Floyd Perry, Jr of Arkansas City and brother in law, Leroy McDonald of Arkansas City; 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Bertha L.Perry; son, Larry "Goose" Jordan; brothers, Lester, James, Leon and Wilford Lee; sisters, Rose May Dickey, Geraldine McDonald and Madeline Henry.

Memorial has been established with the Medicalodge in Arkansas City or Victory in the Valley. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
