Kenneth J. Winebrenner, 72, of Springfield, OR. died Jan. 9, 2004 of congestive heart failure. He was born on Nov. 5, 1931, in Columbia Falls, MT, to Kenneth Winebrenner and Christeena Dorris Lentz. He married Charlene Kizer in Pleasant Hill on Jan. 9, 1954. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1948-51. He was in the Naval Seabee Reserves from 1969-91, with the final rank of command master chief. Winebrenner owned his own excavating business. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a noted artist of wildlife and American history. He had been a member of Operating Engineers Local 701 since 1963. Survivors include his wife; a son, Barry Winebrenner of Springfield; two daughters: Shelley Wicks of Springfield and Jeaneal Winebrenner of Kona, HI; four sisters: Mary Ellen Spence and Betty Lou Luzier of Springfield, Leona Doughtery of Eugene and Irene Hodgskiss of Choteau, MT; and three grandchildren. Entombment at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
