Mrs. Nina Haymaker Tomlin, 96, of 1920 Whittier Ave., formerly of Pleasant Plains, died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Ray, following an illness of one year. She was born in Enterprise, Mo., the daughter of Fred and Etheline Haymaker. Mrs. Tomlin attended grade and high school in Browning, Mo., and Illinois Wesleyan Univerity, Bloomington. Her husband, Thomas Almarin Tomlin preceded her in death in 1941. Mrs. Tomlin was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Tallula and later attended the First Methodist Church in Springfield. Surviving are two sons, Edwin Almarin Tomlin of Elsinore, Calif., Fred Haymaker Tomlin of Pleasant Plains; five daughters, Miss Margaret Ethlyn Tomlin and Mrs. Eleanor Ray both of Springfield, Mrs. Willis Beard of Greenview, Mrs. Hiram Stokes of Edinburg, Mrs. Kathryn Iben of Rockford; one sister, Mrs. Guy Adams of Brown, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Methodist Church, Pleasant Plains with Dr. A. Ray Grummon officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Pleasant Plains. The body will be removed Thursday from the Ennis Funeral Home, Greenview, to the residence of Fred Tomlin, three miles east of Pleasant Plains.
