On April 11, 1948 a brilliant star was born named Juana Manuela Torres. She spent her childhood years in San Fernando. In 1971 she married Desiderio Sanchez. Together they had five children while living in Pacoima. Later they moved and finished raising their children in their North Hollywood home. The same residence where she spent her last days due to cancer of the inner ear.

God gave Juana a gift of energy and positivity that she used to help others. She was a good mother, loving grandmother and patient wife. Through difficult times she always saw the positive light. She had a strong Catholic faith and a special devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe to which she would commend her family and prayers. Her happy spirit always had a thirst to celebrate, sing, dance and share food. She loved music, to cook and have loved ones together. As a mother figure to many, she could comfort, heal and allow us to believe in oneself again. Her biggest triumph was to have love for everyone; she was love.

She watches from above:
Her husband of thirty two years:
Desi Sanchez, her five children and grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, good friends and relatives.
