Wilson Burkey, 54 of 403 Vermont Street, died in St. Mary Hospital Thursday morning at 9 o'clock where he had been a patient since March 23. Mr. Burkey had an operation about 10 days ago. He was born in Brown county, November 30, 1887, a son of George and Dora (Wilson) Burkey, and had lived in Quincy for 19 years, moving there from Clayton. On September 12, 1912, he was married to Josie Meservey.
Mr Burkey leaves his widow: a son, Sgt. Gerald M. Burkey, stationed at Scott Field, and a daughter, Miss Winifred N. Burkey, at home. There are also three sisters and three brothers.
