Mary was married 3 times. First to a Frank Kimball about 1869-1870. They had one child, May, who died at the age of 6 months in 1874. Frank died shortly after. Mary's second husband was Ery Peterman, 17 Sept 1876. They had five children, 3 survived to adulthood. Her third husband was Samuel Horatio Henthorn. They were married 28 March 1897 in Barr, Garfield, OK. He was a widower, 20 years her senior. Three years later, Samuel Henthorn passed away, and Mary was a widow for the third time. This very strong-willed pioneer was once again faced with carving out a living with no help mate. Mary lived 28 years on her land after gaining her Homestead Certificate. She entertained many a grandchild at her home during her later years. She died at age 78 of heart and kidney diseases. A small stone marks her grave which reads Mary Henthorn.
