Fred was thought to have died in France during WWI. However, as the two attached newspaper articles indicate, he was NOT dead, returning home to Georgia in 1921. (Augusta Chronicle Thursday, February 24, 1921 Augusta, Georgia Page: 1). The identity of the soldier buried as 'Fred' in the White Cemetery, Villenow, Walker County, Georgia, remains unknown.
