Mary T. Smurl, of South Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Keigler [sic] Mulherin.
She attended city schools and was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F., in September 1990.
Surviving are her son, John J., Wilkes-Barre; a daughter, Elizabeth Yanovitch, Cinnaminson, N.J.; a brother, Cornelius Mulherin, Ashley; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Mary A. Harostock Funeral Home, 480 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
A prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Peter Menghini cq officiating.
