ALLEN, JAMES HENRY - age 82 of Knoxville, went home on Thursday, January 12, 2012. He was a loving husband and Christian who was born in Louisiana on May 26, 1929 to John Allen, Sr. and Hazel Cooper Allen. Member of New Fellowship Baptist Church and retired from Aqua Glass. He served in
the Korean Conflict with the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, John Jr. and George Allen; sisters, Martha and Bobbie; first wife, Edna Douglas Allen; and second wife, Hazel Hickman Allen. Survived by wife, Jessie Bowman Allen; sisters, Katie Williams of Georgia, and Mary Bolin of Knoxville; foster son, Clarence Doane; step daughters, Julia H. Lumpkin and Donna H. Dockery; step sons, Pete Hickman, Fred Bowman, Tony Bowman, and Scott Bowman; brother-in-law and friend, Eugene Douglas; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Lay, Rev. Charlie Lynch, and Rev. Donnie Cash officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Roseberry Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Fellowship Baptist Church, 4624 Nora Road, Knoxville, TN 37918. The family will receive friends 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Saturday at Bridges Funeral Home,
