Mr William James Fitzmaurice Jr., 87, of 231 Fambro Road, The Rock, Ga. died Wednesday, Jan. 20.2010 at the Golden Living Center in Thomaston
Mr. Fitzmaurice will be cremated, and no services are planned. A native of Ottumwa Ia, he was former resident of Roxboro, NC. He had bee a resident of Upson County for six years. Mr. Fitzmaurice was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII, and was at Pearl Harbor during the bombing of that installation. He served aboard the USS Maryland, He also served in the U.S, Army during the Korean War. He is survived by daughter, Sandra Padgett and her husband Clyde Thomas Padgett, of the Rock; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
