Roy was the son of Frederick Ralston and Estie Matilda Stringfellow. He married Rosemary Noreen Flynn (daughter of John Charles Flynn and Nora Wincie Eldridge) on 6 Jun 1936 in Goshen, Elkhart, Indiana. He died in the W.W. II Normandy Invasion in France. They had one daughter named Esta Norita. He was killed when his daughter was only eight years old.
