Franklin D. R. "Popeye" Haught, 51, of Matamoras, died Saturday
morning, Oct 31, in Selby General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 24, 1936, at Pine Ridge, Washington County, to
William and Ada Brown Haught. He had been employed at Haessly Lumber Co.
for 21 years until his retirement in 1986 because of ill health.
He is survived by four sisters, Georgia Thomas of Matamoras Rt. 3,
Helen Farr of Newport, Geneva Bull of Columbus and Lucille Grimes of
Matamoras.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Services were held Tuesday in Newport Baptist Church with the Rev.
David Doddridge and the Rev. Frank Conley officiating. Burial was in
Newport Cemetery.
