Mrs. Mary M. Kahler, 68 years old, widow of Ferdinand Kahler, Sr., former owner of the Kahler Body Company, died early Friday at her residence, 837 Cedar Bough Street. Although she had been ill a week, death was unexpected. Mrs. Kahler was prominent in church and club circles and considered one of the wealthiest women in New Albany. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Church. Her husband died four years ago. Surviving are a son, Ferdinand Kahler; a sister, Mrs. Fred Lesch, Columbus, Ohio; four brothers, Thomas, Nicholas, Edward and Victor Leist, and a granddaughter, Miss Mary Kahler. - New Albany Weekly Ledger 16 Sep 1932
