George met his life partner, Mildred (Millie) Weston in 1937, and they were married in 1943 shortly before he left for Europe. They spent 68 wonderful years together. They moved to Silverton in 1948 where they became faithful and active members of the Methodist Church. George worked for Portland General Electric Company for 36 years. George served on the Silverton School Board and was the master of the Silverton Masonic Lodge.
They moved to Salem in 1969, and joined the First Presbyterian Church where they took an active part, George having served as an elder and scripture reader. George was on the board of Northeast Salem Citizens Association, Toastmasters and in 1984 was given the Salem Key Citizens Award. After retirement in 1984, George spent his time working around his house and visiting with his many friends. Both he and Millie were always ready to lend a helping hand to others. Their home was always open and friendly to people.
George is survived by his wife, Millie, son George Morrow III, nieces and nephews, cousin Orville Jones and special friends, Mike and Chris Crossland.
Burial with military honors was at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 19, at 2 p.m. at Salem First Presbyterian Church, 770 Chemeketa Street NE, Salem.
