Mr. William Albert "Cap" Johnson, age 85, of 111 Campbell Avenue, Bowdon, Georgia passed away August 30, 1979, in Bowdon Area Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Carroll County, Georgia, January 31, 1894, the son of the late Joseph A. and Cassil Rill "Cassie" Lee Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a lifelong resident of this area, an Army Veteran of World War I and was a retired bookkeeper.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Nix Johnson, Bowdon, Georgia, sister Mrs. Minnie Watson, Newnan, Georgia, two brothers, Mr. J. L. Johnson, and Mr. Fred Johnson, both of Bowdon, Georgia.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 1, 1979, at 2:00 p.m. from the Indian Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Allen Lawler and the Reverend Bob Adams officiating. Music was furnished by the church choir under the direction of Mr. Pat Moon.
Pallbearers were Pete Hill, Milton Watson, Charles Johnson, B. M. Norton, Jimmy Wheelus, Henry Aldridge, James Aldridge. Honorary pallbearers were World War I Veterans.
Interment was in the Indian Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Rainwater Funeral Home, Bowdon, Georgia was in charge of arrangements.
