Levi Foss answered the call to service of his country, He was in militia: Picket's Briggaide at Bunker Hill, Valley Forge and at Saratoga NY. Died of injuries at hospital in Albany. Buried in military cemetery which was later moved. Grave misplaced. Cousin went to Albany to get his coat and gun. National Archives contain receipt for items given to the cousin.

Levi was married to Hannah on June 1 1759. Their children were: Uriah (1760), Walter, Samuel, James, Hannah (1764), and Capt. Phineas Foss (1772).

Gravesite Details

Other records show Levi reinlisted Jan 1778 and was on the rolls at Valley Forge. His death is probably in April of 1778
