CUPP, Patrick Darius, (Pat), 60, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, September 23, 2000. He was the beloved husband of Sandra Caldwell Cupp. Mr. Cupp was a real estate broker, builder, developer and property manager. A 1970 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a graduate of the Realtors Institute of Virginia, Pat devoted his life to his family, friends and community and shared his zest for life with everyone who met him. He was a generous supporter of many worthwhile causes including Virginia Tech and Radford University and was an active member in may state and local organizations including: Member, Governor's World Trade Alliance of the Blue Ridge; Trustee, Virginia Association of Realtors Political Action Committee; Chairman, Montgomery County Republican Party; President, New River Valley Association of Realtors; President, Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce; President, New River Valley Homebuilders Association; President, Blacksburg Noon Rotary Club-over 18 years perfect attendance; Member, Radford University Athletic Advisory Council; Board Member, Junior Achievement of Southwest Virginia; Member, Civil War Advisory Council-Virginia Tech; Member, Virginia Tech-UT Prosim Society. Among the honors he received were the Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce "Co-Business Person of the Year award" along with his wife, Sandy, the Town of Blacksburg "Professional Office Civic Beautification Award," and was a multiple year recipient of the New River Valley Association of Realtors "Diamond Award Sales Achievement." He was preceded in death by his parents, L.J. and Margaret Cupp; one brother, Jack Cupp; and one sister, Betty Harvey. In addition to his wife, Sandy, he is survived by his daughter and her husband, Candra and John Harris, and his grandchildren, Heather, Hannah, and Hunter of Christiansburg; one brother, William B. Cupp of Blacksburg; two sisters, Lillian M. Cupp of Blacksburg and Kitty Hill of Savannah, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert D. and Mary Huff, Ann Mildred Weddle, and Joe and Alice Caldwell; many special nephews and nieces, including Nancy and Pete McDonald, Maggie Machingo, Rob, Dave, and Mike Hill, Kathy Williams, Terri Gibson, Lilly, Katie, and A.J. Harvey, Brendan McDonald, Benji and Lauren Machingo, Alan and Shannon Sherman, Ronda Caldwell, Lee and Jennifer Ferguson, Paul and Senora Faulkner, Jimmy and Sharleve Caldwell, David and Evelyn Weddle, and Nate and Amy Emhoff; and a special Corgi, Dixie Bell Cupp. The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Christiansburg. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Christiansburg. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, September 26, 2000 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
