BALE, Deborah Allen, 44, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on June 24, 1956. She had worked with the ParaTransit Planning Commission with the Town of Blacksburg. She was also known to most of Blacksburg as the "Avon Lady." She was preceded in death by her mother, Reba Linkous Allen. She is survived by her husband, Richard W. Bale; her father and stepmother, James Monroe and Wanda Roberts Allen of Newport; two daughters, Shannon Lee Bale of Salem and Linda Ann Bale of Christiansburg; a granddaughter, Jessica Taylor Bale of Christiansburg; four sisters, Kaye Bradley of Newport, Faye Smith of Newport, Loretta Allen of Christiansburg, and Rhonda Mitcham of Newport; one brother, Daniel Joseph McGuire of Floyd; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Level Green Christian Church, Craig County, with the Rev. Michael Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Level Green Christian Church Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Friday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
