BRANSON—Loren Donald Branson, 89, of Florence, passed away May 21, 2011.

He was born April 22, 1922, to Frederick Branson and Alta (Wren) Branson.

Over the years, Loren worked as an auto mechanic, on highway construction, and was a business owner. He was a veteran of World War II, in the 15th Infantry, 3rd Division, "H" Company. He was also a member of the Teamsters.

He was married to Maxine Virginia Thorn. Loren moved from Missouri, Then Calif., to Florence 12 years ago.

He is survived by his children: Twyla Brook; Mike, Jack and Jerry Branson; Vicki Krieps; and Teresa White; 22 grandchildren, including: Kari Shephard Morris, Christopher Branson and Malisa Branson Solano; 38 great-grandchildren, including: Krystle Morris Chiang, Joshua BrookLynn Morris, Nicole, Jeremy and Thalia Solano; four great-great-grandchildren, including Jaxson Mia Chiang; sisters Mabel Owens, Shirley Harper, Azalea Watkins and Connie Porter; and a brother, Jr. Branson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, in 1999; a daughter, Susan Shephard; a brother, Wayne Branson; a sister, Mildren Ritchie; and grandchildren Samuel Brook and Kami Shephard.

Loren will be burried at a later date in a family plot at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Mo.
