Lifelong local resident Ronald A. Hall, 92, of Castle Rock passed away Oct. 20, 2011.
He was born Aug. 10, 1919, in West Kelso, and attended Kelso schools.
On May 14, 1938, he married Ann I. Barker in Stevenson, Wash. She preceded him in death March 6, 2007.
Ron served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II. He retired as a supervisor from Weyerhaeuser in 1986 after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Kelso Eagles, Castle Rock Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Afifi Temple Shriners and the Cowlitz River Shrine Club.
Ron enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing with his son Bob, daughter Roni and grandsons Duane and Jason. He loved his family and friends, and life in general. Ron was always gentle and loving.
In addition to his wife, Ann, Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Hall and Virginia (Fowler) Barger; and two brothers, L. Roy Bonner and Daniel Hall.
Ron is survived by a son, Robert L. Hall (Jimie Sue) of Longview; two daughters, Virginia Rexford (Duane) of Kelso and Roni Seals (Jay) of Castle Rock; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ron's life and a potluck is planned for 1 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Kelso Eagles. A private graveside service will be held with Pastor Doug Fields officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3101 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97239.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Hubbard Funeral Home.
