Jeannie L. Brenner

Longtime Longview resident Jeannie LaVonne Brenner passed away peacefully at her home, family at her side, on Sept. 13, 2011.

She was 82 years young, for now she dwells with those loves lost at God's side.

She was born June 23, 1929, in Cushing, Okla., and settled with family in Kelso at an early age. She attended Kelso schools and then married the man who changed her life, William G. "Bill" Brenner. They made their home in the Coal Creek area.

Mom Brenner loved all people and animals and wanted to help all. She was very talented and intelligent. She was a beautiful singer and artist who could play about any instrument she picked up, guitar to piano. Crocheting also was a passion.

Dad said she was the best cook in the 48 states, and everybody agreed. She loved big, fast cars covered with chrome. She loved life and all parts of it. She was bright, shiny and sparkling, sharp and quick-witted. "A little woman, living large."

Preceding her in death was her husband of 47 years, Bill, on May 12, 1995; a son, Billy Dean, in 1950; her mother, Diamond; father, Ralph; a sister, Judy Fowler; a brother, Bob Beasley; and a granddaughter, Kandice Rene Brenner.

She is survived by a sister, Margie Dunway of Kelso; daughter, Lynn LawMaster of Portland, and her husband David Tver; two grandsons, Shiloh LawMaster and Shane Valdez; son Bill Brenner Jr. and his wife, Paula; two granddaughters, Nicole Rose Brenner and Tiffany Lynn Brenner; numerous great-grandchildren; and special family, Mary Brenner, Kathy and her brother Sam Haag, Nina Kaufman, and Robert and Norma Cryer.

Our mother's last word was of love for all to live by God's words and to be examples of his love and kindness.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park. Interment will follow at Longview Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Jeannie Brenner's name to Hospice Care Center, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.

Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
