Excerpt -- Mrs. J. B. Fortney died at her home at Independence on Wednesday morning, April 15, 1891. Her age was about 30 years, and she had been an invalid for some time. She leaves a husband and four children. She was a daughter of squire Eugene McGinnis of Kingwood.
