Sophie M. Bachman, 86, of Rt. 26, Lee Center, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Rome Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on July 7, 1922, in the town of Lee, the daughter of George and Katherine Rogola Nowiski. She
attended West Leyden schools. On August 26, 1944, Sophie was united in marriage to Rudolph W. Bachman in Rome. Mr. Bachman passed away on February 21, 1992.

Sophie was employed by the Rome Holiday Inn for several years. She was previously employed by Lee Center Canning Factory and General Cable Corp.

Mrs. Bachman was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Lee Center, the Lee Legion 1794 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Lee Unity Senior Citizens.

Sophie loved to crochet blankets for her family and friends and enjoyed working in her yard.
