Clarence was a teacher and principal in the Dearborn Public Schools for 39 years. He graduated from Fordson High School in 1943, and attended Wayne State University, supporting himself by being a sportswriter for the Dearborn Independent newspaper. When he graduated college, he taught at Salina Middle School until 1950, when he joined the U.S. Army. He married Jean and was the father of Lisa, Mark, and Karl. He was preceded in death by a son, Kurt Dobronsk.
