Last Rites for Mrs. Joel Zehr, 75, at E.U.B. Church,
Died Saturday Afternoon of a Heart Attack at home East of Aurora:

Funeral services for Mrs. Joel Zehr, 75, resident of the Aurora community since 1885, were held Wednesday morning from the E.U. B. church with Dr. Pau; B. Porter officiating.

Mrs. Clarence Luthy and Mrs. Gilbert Larson Sr. sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden" with Mrs. C.L. Whitney Sr. as the accompanist.

Pallbearers were Roland Christenson, Andrew Miller, Gerald Wolff, Raymond Christenson, Vernon Salmon and Keith Post. Interment was made interment eh Aurora Cemetery.

Mrs. Zehr died suddenly of a heart attack at her farm home 1 1/2 miles east of Aurora.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels H. Peterson, Gertie Lorena Peterson was born at Leland, Ill. on August 21, 1880.

She came with her parents to Hamilton county in 1887. Here on a farm south of Aurora, she attended the public schools and grew to woman hood. She has 10 brothers and sisters.

She was united in marriage with Joel Zehr on January 7, 1904. Four children were born to this union. Their entire wedded life was spent in Hamilton county. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in January 1954.

She and her husband had been members of the church for many years. On April 17, 1949, they joined the Aurora E.U. B. church. There were but few times during the years of their membership that they were absent from the worship service.

Survivors include: her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Alice Bowman, and Mrs. Faye Wagner of Gardena, Calif., Clair Zehr, Aurora, and Paul Zehr, Puente, Calif., four sisters, Mrs. Alby Olson and Mrs. Stella Smith of Aurora, Mrs. Nellie Stewart f Grand Island, and Mrs. Vira Bartlett, Oshkosh, one brother, Willis Peterson, Chicago, Ill., and three grand children' Mrs. Beverly Salmon, Omaha, Randy Zehr, Puente, Calif., and Richard Zehr, Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Leslie, George, Harvey and Frank, and one sister, Lila.
