Hazel L. Reichel (Babylon, Magness), 88, born March 27, 1922, passed away at her home March 15, 2011. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by services at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Reichel was preceded in death by her husband W.E. "Bill" Reichel and her daughter Donna Jo Petersen. She is survived by her sister Wilma Mouser; son Robert L. Magness (Catherine D. Magness); son-in-law John D. Petersen; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She graduated from Harrisonville High School and CMSU (Warrensburg, 1943). Hazel taught elementary school in the Independence School System for 15 years and was a vocal music consultant in the Kansas City, Missouri School System for 25 years. She was a long time member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and member of PEO. Her family suggests contributions be made to the City Union Mission, 1100 E. 11th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64106. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Home Instead and Odyssey Hospice.
