A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Country Meadows of York in the Lobby of Building 3, 1920 Trolley Rd., York, with the Rev. Tracy A. Conner officiating.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Born December 17, 1918, in York, she was the daughter of late William P. and Geneva E. (Meads) Acworth.
She graduated from William Penn Senior High School in 19M36. She was a small business owner and operated Hilda's Beauty Salon in North York for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Hilda was a member of the Viking Athletic Assoc., and enjoyed watching football, especially Notre Dame. She also liked watching CNN, the news, reading and going to dinner. An avid traveler, she and Carlton enjoyed traveling to together and toured many places throughout the world.
Mrs. Nessly is survived by a son, Delvin G. Miller, Jr. and wife, Ranee (Shaub) of York; a grandson, Delvin G. Miller III and wife, Patty of Sewickley; four great-grandchildren, Jon, David, Katie and Sarah Miller; former daughter-in-law, Karen L. Miller; good friend of many years, Betty Landis who will sadly miss Hilda; and longtime companion, Henry Plath.
Hilda enjoyed living at County Meadows of York the past two years and praised the staff for their kindness, excellent care, thoughtfulness, how nice they were to her and for all they did to make her stay pleasant.
