Judith Ann Haling went home on January 18, 2012.

Judi was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on May 13, 1946. She was born to Frank and Katherine Kersten.

Judi was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, and a mother of two sons, Lawrence Scott and Michael. In 1974, Judi returned to Leavenworth to raise her surviving son, Michael. Judi worked for Louise Dress Shop for several years. Later she also worked for Kelly's Insurance Agency, McCaffery Title Company, and Sac's Inc.

In 1986 Judi met Charles Haling. They were married May 14, 1988. Together they owned and operated Crown Lanes until 2009. Judi was an active and devoted member of her family. She served as a Den Mother for Michael's Cub Scout Troop. Judi was a gifted artist, a talent which she used to create spectacular birthday and celebration cakes for her friends and family. She also enjoyed hosting summer parties, which were events everyone looked forward to. Judi and Charles shared many memories together, and never spent a night apart. Among her favorite memories were traveling to bowling tournaments, and vacationing in Las Vegas. Judi and Charles also enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, league bowling, participating in the Ladies Eagles Auxiliary and working in their flower beds.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Charles and Louise Madison and Frank and Lucy Kersten, and beloved first son, Lawrence Scott.

She is survived by her husband, Charles, sons Michael and Darrin, daughter in law, Theresa, grand children Kersten, Matthew, Chad, and Brooke, and her dog, What's It.

Family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 PM on January 23, 2012 at Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday January 24, 2012 at the Chapel. Pastor Ken Mestemacher of Southern Heights United Methodist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to The American Lung Society or American Cancer Society.
