Musette was born in Minneapolis, Kansas to James Robert and Flora Best Gilmour, the oldest of three children. Her younger sisters were Jessie Edna and Mary Pauline. The family moved to Lake City, Colorado and then to Canon City, Colorado where she married Lenard Lambuth on 2 Aug 1900. They had three children, all born in Canon City: Willa Margaret (who married Linden Edwin Green), Robert Wesley, and Helen Frances. The family moved around 1920 to Jerome, Idaho where her mother joined them after the death of her father. Flora Best Gilmour is buried in an unmarked grave in the Jerome City Cemetery. By 1930 they had relocated to Alhambra, California where her husband continued in his occupation of electrical engineer.
