1971 April 14, Traverse City Newspaper: Kingsley, Mrs. Sylva O. Craig, 81, of East Lansing, widow of the former Kingsley area school teacher and superintendent Frank L. Craig, died Tuesday morning after an illness of four months. Born June 30, 1889 in Harlan, the daughter of Frank and Beatrice Crowell. She was married on November 25, 1907, at Mesick to Mr. Craig, who died October 27, 1962. Besides living in the Grand Traverse area, Mrs. Craig had been a resident of Sault St. Marie, Bay Port, Morrice, Cedar Springs, and Sand Lake prior to moving to East Lansing three years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Beatrice) Biebar of Traverse City; two sons, Lyle of Southern Pines, N. Carolina and Dr. Robert F. a professor at Michigan State University; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a sister Beatrice Wirt of Battle Creek and many other relatives.
