Leon P. Weaver, 74, of Ephrata, died at Fairmount Homes on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 following a short illness.

He was born in Ephrata Township, PA, a son of the late Elmer M. and Minnie Sauder Weaver. He was married to Lorraine Martin Weaver. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on March 10th.

Leon was a member of the Lititz Mennonite Church. He volunteered at the Ephrata Re-Uzit Shop and enjoyed antique toy collecting, going to auctions, gardening, and John Deere tractors. He was a song leader at several churches.

He retired from R.W. Sauder after 30 years of employment and most recently worked at Amelia's Grocery.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Marlin R., husband of Susan (Moore) Weaver of St. Albain, France; daughter, Joyce E., wife of Lloyd Fox of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Janice E., wife of Barry Brotzman of Mt. Joy; daughter, Carolyn F., wife of Carl T. Frederick of Manheim; daughter, Sharon L. Weaver of Lititz; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and sister, Anna Mae Weber of Reinholds.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dale L. Weaver.

Services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, June 27, 2005, at the Lititz Mennonite Church, 165 E. Front St., Lititz, with Bishop Nelson Martin, Pastor Lowell Gerber and Pastor Dennis Ernest officiating. Interment will follow in the Metzler Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, June 26, 2005, from 6 to 8 PM at Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata and also at the church on Monday from 9 to 10 AM.

Flowers are welcomed by the family and memorial contributions in Leon's memory may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee, 21 S. 12th Street, Akron, PA 17501.
