Note: The name used on the birth record of her son Leroy David Locke was "Georgia Abigail Perry Locke". Wife of James Francis Locke. She remarried to A.C. Dornfield at some point, but evidently not in Jefferson county, Iowa.

Following is the Locke-Perry marriage notice found in the Fairfield Ledger. A Jefferson county genealogist in 1968 inadvertently wrote "1889" for the marriage year, which has gotten used for other Locke & Perry family trees in error. The husband's name was also written as being "David Locke" on one family group sheet; that was an error as well.

LOCKE-PERRY

James LOCKE and Miss Georgie Abagail (sic. Georgia Abigail) PERRY of this city were married at Ottumwa on Tuesday of last week. The ceremony was performed at the First Methodist church by Rev. W. N. Groome, the pastor, and the young people returned to this city, where they will make their home, the same evening. Both the parties to this marriage have grown to years of maturity in this city and have many friends here who will congratulate them upon the event.

MRS. DORNFIELD DIED YESTERDAY

At Rockford, Ill., She Was a Sister of Mrs. W.J. GILBERT Here

Mrs. A.C. DORNFIELD, of Rockford, Ill., a former resident here and sister of Mrs. W. J. GILBERT of this city passed away yesterday morning at the Swedish-American hospital in that city after an illness of several month's duration.

Abbie PERRY, the youngest daughter of Jacob and Amanda PERRY (sic. Missouri Amanda GRUBB PERRY), was born near Fairfield, July 12, 1868. Her girlhood was spent in this vicinity where she attended the Fairfield schools and later taught for several years in the county schools.

She was united in marriage March 5, 1889 (sic. 1890 in Ottuwma, Iowa), with James LOCKE. Their son, LeRoy D. LOCKE and granddaughter, Jane Elizabeth, of Rockford, and her husband, A. C. DORNFIELD whom she later married, survive her.

She has long been a member of the Methodist church and the Order of Eastern Star. For several years she acted as field secretary for the American Home Founding association, of Ottumwa. The sixteen counties of southern Iowa, which she visited, and her many friends will long remember her kind and loving disposition.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church, Monday afternoon, at one-thirty and interment will be made in the Evergreen cemetery.

Note: a search on Ancestry.com finds several family trees and other sources that may or may not relate to "A.C. Dornfield". None provide a specific burial location; a couple family trees use June 11, 1949 for his DOD, but they are not sourced. As of 1930 census he was still in the Rockford, Illinois area; beyond that, this contributor doesn't know yet where he is buried. Any clarification would be appreciated.

--------
Note:
Abbie had at least one son, LeRoy David Locke, born in Jefferson county, Iowa on March 5, 1893. There is a family group sheet on file at the Fairfield Public Library that notes a stillborn child born/died Feb. 25, 1891, but this has not been confirmed. No burial location is known for that possible child, so consider it with some caution.
