In 1864, she married Joachim Albrecht Jahnke. Their children Mina, Anna, William, and Marie were born in Germany. On October 19, 1872, the Jahnkes sailed from Hamburg to the port of New Orleans aboard the SS Vandalia, arriving on November 18th. From there, they made their way to Texas, settling near Phillipsburg. Their daughter, Marie, died sometime before 1880. Joachim and Marie had two more children after arriving in Texas, a son named Herman and another daughter also named Marie.
Marie Frühling Jahnke died on November 2, 1904. The German inscription on her tombstone reads:
I surrendered to God,
Dearest Father of mine.
Here is no eternal life,
It had to end.
