COLUMBUS, GA - W. Garnett "Griff" Hartline, 75, of Columbus, died Sun. Sept. 26 at St. Francis Hospital

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at Edgewood Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Hartman and the Rev. Helen Berenthien officiating. Entombment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.

Mr. Hartline was born March 26, 1929, in Valley Head, Ala., son of the late Pat and Ruth Hartline. He retired from Columbus Technical College in 1995, where he served as President for 15 years. Mr. Hartline was an active member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an Elder. He was active in the Downtown Rotary Club. Mr. Hartline was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers, Nina Hartline, G.W. Hartline and Forest Hartline.

Survivors include his wife, Lee Hartline of Columbus; daughter, Frieda Powell (Jack) of Albany, Ga.; son, Dr. Randy Hartline (Shirin) of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grand- children, Jake Hartline of Knoxville, Katie Hartline of Knoxville, Deanna Mobley of Albany, Jackie Powell of New York, N.Y.; and Ron Powell of Athens, Ga.; one great grand- child, Morgan Mobley of Albany; several nieces and nephews.
