Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lou Krueger (Significant other: Jason Jarrett) of Dawson and Barb Krueger of Pleasant Plains; two brothers, Carl (Pat) Krueger of New Berlin and Kenny (Mary Ann) Krueger of Jerome; two sister-in-law, Helen Krueger of Pleasant Plains and Fran Krueger of Danbury, CT; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Fritz was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1961-1963 and then served in the Army Reserves. He was a 1956 graduate of Pleasant Plains High School. He was a member of American Legion Post 32; Township Officials of Illinois; The Farm Bureau and Pleasant Plains Veterans Memorial Committee. He was appointed to the Trustee Position on the Farmington Cemetery Board and served from 1973 to 1975. He was appointed and then elected Gardner Township Supervisor and served from August 1975 to May 1977 and also from June 1979 to May 2009. He also served on the Township Officials of Illinois Board beginning as a board member and also served on the Board of Directors for many years. He was a special deputy for the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office for several years.
In 1967 he began farming and retired as a grain and cattle farmer in 2002. He formerly worked in construction and also worked at Fiat Allis.
Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery in Farmingdale, Il where Military Honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
