Audra A. Platt, 87, R.R.5, Shelbyville, Ind., died at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 1989 at her home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1902 in Shelby County, ind., the daughter of Austin and Gertrude Mahan Barngrover. She was a homemaker all her life. she married Clarence E. Platt April 18, 1923, and he preceded her in death July 3, 1968.
She is survived by three sons, Melvin R., and David L. Platt, both of Shelbyville, Ind., and Wayne E. Platt, Daleville, Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. Paul (Dorothy L.) Grosney, Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Jack (Helen L.) Stanley, Coos Bay, Ore., Mrs. John (Verna Belle) Tower, Jeffersonville, Ind., Mrs. Charles (Mary Kamplain) Springer, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Steven (Janice) Copple, Fountaintown, Ind.; one brother, Emerson "Barny" Barngrover, Greenfield, Ind.; 29 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and three grandchildren.
The Rev. David Schneff will conduct the services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Murphy Funeral Service, Shelbyville, Ind.
Burial will be in the Paul Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests that memorials go to the Shelby County Cancer Fund.
