Archie Lee Haste, 70, Eubank, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after a courageous one year battle with cancer. His loving wife of 49 1/2 years, Patricia Ann Perry Haste, formerly of Waynesburg, their three children and grandchildren were at his side.

He was born in Eubank, Kentucky, on October 21, 1941, a son of the late Vernus and Virginia Reda Young Haste. He was retired from Tecumseh Products and was a member of Newell Christian Fellowship in Eubank.

Archie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family very much. He loved to joke and did so even on his sickest days. He loved watermelon and sitting on the front porch, which he called his "office". He had his opinion about everything and didn't mind telling you so, but always managed to win you over in the end. His family will miss him beyond measure, and he will forever be alive in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Perry Haste; three children, Archie Haste Jr., Lisa & (Kenny) May, all of Eubank and Kandie & (Jason) McKinney of Somerset; six grandchildren, Archie Haste III of Kansas City, MO, Alex Haste of Mintonville, KY, Andy Haste of Boston, MA, Brooke May and Brandon May, both of Eubank and Brady McKinney of Somerset; one great-granddaughter, Hanna Haste of Mintonville, KY; six sisters, Mae Wesley of Eubank, Geraldine Hines of Pulaski, Aldie Ridings of Somerset, Nadean Worley of Burnside, Diane Haste and Barbara Haste, both of Waynesburg; five brothers, Dee Haste of Bardstown, KY, Hershel Haste, Fred Haste, Tank Haste and Donnie Haste, all of Science Hill; and a very close and special cousin, Ernest Estes of Eubank.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dexter Haste, one sister, Dorothy Haste Anderson, and two brothers, Lonnie Haste and Ross Haste.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Haste and Bro. Bobby Cole officiating.

Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.
