Sarah Foster Spruell of Bowdon, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at her residence. She was 80. Mrs. Spruell was born in Carroll County, GA on June 3, 1927 to the late William Ramah and Margaret Mellie Vaughn Foster. Mrs. Spruell was a member of the last class of World War II Cadet Nurses from the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. She worked at the Infirmary at Georgia Tech and then retired as nurse from the infirmary at the State University of West Georgia. Mrs. Spruell was also a member of the Bowdon First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh James Spruell, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law; two grandchildren of Carrollton; and sister of Carrollton.

Funeral services held on May 2 at the Bowdon First United Methodist Church with Rev. Darryl Hessel officiating. Pallbearers are Bill Travis, Don Foster, Carlton Foster, Jim Powell, Edward Spruell, and David Foster. Interment in the Methodist Church Cemetery. Rainwater Funeral Home, Bowdon in charge of the arrangements.
