Mrs. Bessie J. Cook
Mebane - Mrs. Bessie Jones Cook, 91, of Jones Drive, died Tuesday, September 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields Inc. after several years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late James Frank Cook and the daughter of William Freshwater and Rachel Gutheria Jones, both deceased. She was a dietieian for the public schools and a former employee of Kingsdown Inc. in Mebane. She was a homemaker and a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include one sister Nell Jones Nichols of Mebane; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Hebron United Methodist Church by the Rev. Carson Tyson and the Rev. Randy Wellford. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane this evening from 6:30 to 8:30 and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Mullis, 3353 Jones Drive, Mebane.
