James W. Cook
Winston-Salem - James William Cook, 62, of Route 2, West Jefferson, died Friday, Aug. 31, at the Moravian Home in Winston-Salem after a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Barbara Jones Cook and the son of the late James Frank Cook. He was retired from Sprague Electric Company, where he was a quality control engineer, and was a member of the American Chemistry Society. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church in Mebane.
Survivors other than his mother include two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Beverly) Holbrook Jr. of Louisburg and Miss Mary Jane Cook of Charlotte; and one son James Elliott Cook of Greensboro.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Hebron Methodist Church cemetery by the Rev. Carson Tyson.
The family will be at the Silas Creek Chapel of Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, this evening from 7 to 9.
