Mrs. Austina Hobday

Bohannon - Mrs. Austina Nelson Hobday, 88, died Saturday in a Norfolk hospital after a long illness.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and Mathews County Women's Club. She was the widow of Paul Hobday.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Vern Lord of Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Gladys Sherman of Richmond and Mrs. Page Herbert of Norfolk; a son, Stanley Hobday of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Jack Byfield of Bohannon; a brother, John Arnold of Bernie, Mont.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. today in Foster–Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, by the Rev. Otis M. Joyner of Macedonia Baptist Church. Cremation will follow.

The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Mathews Rescue Squad.
