He was born Feb. 12, 1909 in Greene County, a son of the late B. C. and Jennie (Gilbert) Durrer.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Durrer was employed by Rheem Manufacturing Co. of Baltimore, Md. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church of Ruckersville.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Ruby D. McCormick of Brookfield, Wis., Mrs. Earline D. Smith of Charlottesville, Mrs. Opal D. Crickenberger of Grottoes and Mrs. Viola D. Shelton of Laguna Hill, Calif; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernie K and John C. Durrer, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth D. Price.
A service will be conducted 7 p.m. today in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by D. Fred A. Holbrook. Following the service, the family will receive friends. The body will be taken to Oak Lawn Cemetery of Baltimore, Md., for burial at 2 p.m. Thursday, and graveside rites will be conducted by Richard G. Crickenberger.
