John F.Serra, 60, of Frontenac, Kansas, died at 3:15 a.m.Tuesday April 23,1985 at Mt.Carmel Medical Center. Uncle Johnny was born on February 18, 1925 in Capaldo, Kansas, to Luigi and Concetta (Merenda)Serra.He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy from July 1943 to January 1946. When he was stationed in Dearborn, MI area, he always when he had leave, would stop and see his sisters Tracy, my Maternal Grandmother and my Aunt Ellen(Serra) Coleman, and my Aunt Mary Hribar. In 1946, he married Josephine Esposito and moved to Arma, Kansas. Uncle Johnny worked for Caskey Motors, and Jones Motors of Pittsburg, Kansas. His last 33 years he worked for a Ford Dealer,M&M Motors of Girard. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Frontenac, Kansas, Commodore Barry Council of Columbus, Kansas and the Arma American Legion and Arma Eagles. Uncle Johnny had one daughter, Linda (Serrra) Widmar, and two Granddaughters. My Uncle Johnny was a very kind man, But, did get to talk to him on the phone, when he called my Grandma Tracy, who was very fond of him.
