SHOUP, WILLIS R., 87, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (December 23, 2001) at Bayfront Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Angola, Ind., he came here in 1945 from Bronson, Mich., where he was a co-owner and co-operator, with his wife Gwen, of Shoup Insurance from 1936 to 1944. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and was discharged in 1945. He retired as a local adjudication board officer for the Veterans Administration after 30 years of service. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Tri-State College in Angola and received a degree in business administration. He was a member of Covecrest Christian Center, Tiger, Ga., and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Judy; two grandchildren, Peter Shoup and Rebecca Woodyard, both of St. Petersburg; and two sisters, Miriam Thompson, Indiana, and Joanne Booth, Maine.
