Drama Collison Alexander, 79, of Mount Airy, died July 13 at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore after a brief illness.

Mrs. Alexander was born in Mayo and graduated from Annapolis High School. She was a homemaker and active member of the Mount Airy Senior Center. She was an avid bingo player.

She previously belonged to Mayo United Methodist Church and then joined Howard Chapel-Ridgeville United Methodist Church at Long Corner near Mount Airy.

Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Walter B. Alexander; one son, Andrew J. Lindell of Noblesville, Ind.; two daughters, Katherine E. Johnson of Westminster and Joan Strasnick of Gaithersburg; one brother, Irvin Collison of Rockville; and six grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Mabel Edwards, Laura Jones, Karline Johnson, Elaine Elliott, Josephine Ralston and Melvin and Malcom Collison.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Private burial will be in Mayo United Methodist Church cemetery.
