George Alfred Conner
George Alfred Conner, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Conner, was born at Burwell, Nebraska, Jan 27., 1909, where most of his life was spent. He died at the home of his parents, the seventh day of March, 1951, at the age of 42 years, 1 month and 8 days.
After George attended the local school he left for California. He stayed there until 1929, then returned to Burwell. He was wed to Alberta Treptow, of Burwell on Oct. 5, 1930. To this union a daughter Noel Conner, and a son Darwin Conner were born. In 1934, George and his family departed for California.
George wed mary Floccatelli of Santa Cruz, California on Sept. 12, 1936. To this union was born a son George Conner Jr. They returned to Burwell in 1945, where they made their home on his parents place which he bought and farmed.
On May 1, 1950, George and son Darwin left for Salinas, California. He was employed at H.J. Donahue Transfer company until Dec. 10, 1950, when he returned home to his parents, due to illness. George was admitted at the Methodist hospital at Omaha. Two weeks later he returned home. until passing away due to a long illness.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Mary, one daughter Noel Conner of Salinas, California; two sons, Darwin Conner of San Diego, California and and George Allen Conner of Burwell; five sisters, Laura Freeman, Lorrine Brewer and Mona Hughes of Burwell, Nora White and Freda Flock of Ericson Nebraska; three brothers, Clarence of Ord, Ray of Greenfield, California, and Orval of Burwell. He has 2 brothers and 1 sister that preceded him in death. He also leaves to mourn 27 nieces and 26 nephews.
