John W. Horn was the son of Frederick P. Horn & Hepsebah Clark.
Frederick P. Horn b. 1796 was the son of Henry Horn & Elizabeth Pretzman.

John W. Horn & his wife moved to Cedar County, Iowa in 1851. Margaret Rider's family including her brother, John E. Rider, also moved to Iowa about the same time.

Margaret Rider Horn, in her obituary, mentions her infant daughter Catharine:
From Findagrave #35722385 [which has complete obituary] Margaret Rider Horn.
" Another Pioneer Gone.
__Mrs. Margaret Horn, wife of J. W. Horn, died Sunday....at the home of her son, William Horn,.... Margaret Rider was born March 29, 1820, in Huntington county, Pa. She married J. W. Horn December 16, 1841, to whom were born six children - Catharine A., who died very young,..."
