Doris Johnson Covington, 87, died Saturday January, 22, 2011.

Doris, a long-time Raleigh resident graduated from Hugh Morson High School where she maintained close contact with her classmates through a series of class reunions. Early in her life she worked for CP&L and Durham Life Insurance Company prior to starting her family.

She was a loving wife to Harry B. Covington,Jr. who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter Jane Covington Lambeth of Chapin, SC, her husband Jim Lambeth and grand daughter Jennifer Lambeth and her son Bob Covington of Athens, GA, his wife Melanie Covington and grandson Bradley Covington and grand daughter Lauren Covington.

Also preceding her in death were her mother Pauline Simpkins Johnson, her brother Worth Johnson and her sister Lettie Lou Jordan. She is also survived by nieces Joan Urmson and her husband Linn of Youngsville, Dale Johnson of Chapel Hill, and Carol Johnson Baker of Kinston.

Graveside inurnment rites will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, Jan.29, 2011 at Montlawn Memorial Park.
