Christine Dryman, 79, of East Flat Rock, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Virgie Shipman. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Branton and Francis Shipman. She lived most of her life in Henderson County and worked as the bookkeeper for Bill Dryman & Sons Tire Company since 1971.
She was very devoted to her family; and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving high school sweet heart from Emma High School of 61 years, Bill Dryman; four sons, Johnny Dryman of Hendersonville, Kenny Dryman and his wife Angie of Hendersonville, Terry Dryman and his fiancé Becky Phillips of Arden, and Michael Dryman and his wife Sasha of Huntersville, NC; five grandchildren, Joby Stephens, Chuck Stephens, Donald Dryman and his wife Misty, Connor Dryman, and Colton Dryman; six great-grandchildren, Cecilee Stephens, Lexi Baldwin, Brayden Stephens, Kaitlyn Dryman, Kasey Dryman, and Kynden Stephens; a brother, Howard Shipman and his wife Mary of Asheville; a sister, Carolyn Bleeker and her husband Gary of Garrens Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Elizabeth House and the doctors and staff of Dr. Timothy Vanderwaak, Dr. Randy Tryon, and Dr. Matthew Hull for the kind and supportive care for Mrs. Dryman.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Four Seasons Compassion-for-Life, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 or Council on Aging, Meals on Wheels, 105 King Blvd, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
